National Youth Conference 2011 - Information
WHAT IS THE NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE?
The National Youth Conference in one of the largest annual gatherings of young people in Ireland. Ógra members meet to debate wide rangingvissues in Education, Welfare, Healthcare, Justice and many other areas. Elections form part of the National Youth Conference, with positions being filled for the incoming Central Ocer Board of Ógra Fianna Fáil. Speakers at this year’s conference include An Uachtarán Fhianna Fáil Micheál Martin TD, Fianna Fáil Party Spokespersons, High Profile Non-Party Speakers and Ógra members from across the country.
Plenty of entertainment will be provided on the Friday night and a Gala Conference Banquet will take place on the Saturday night. All members are invited along to what promises to be a great weekend.

OBSERVER PASSES

CONFERENCE GALA BANQUET 2011
The Conference Gala Banquet will take place on Saturday 5th November 2011 in the Banquet Hall of the Silver Spings Moran Hotel. Tickets for the Conference Gala Banquet are only €30 and are available online by CLICKING HERE or by contactin Graham in Fianna Fáil HQ at 01-6649 224.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation in the Silver Springs Hotel is now full. Additional conference accommodation is now available in the Montenotte Hotel closeby, from the 4th-6th November, rates from €79 per night room only.. Elections for the newly established Central Officer Board of Ógra Fianna Fáil will take place on the Saturday morning of the National Youth Conference in Cork. Positions up for election include:

THE DEADLINE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF MOTIONS TO THE CONFERENCE AND NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES HAS NOW PASSED.
GOBNAIT O'CONNELL AWARD
The Gobnait O’Connell Memorial Award was first announced at the National Youth Conference 2000 in Westport, Co. Mayo. The award is named after Gobnait O’Connell, Youth and Membership Development Officer of Fianna Fáil from 1997 to 2000 who was tragically killed in a car accident in September 2000. During her time working for Fianna Fáil her passion and support for Ógra was widely recognised among members. The prize will be awarded to the Best Ógra of each year and a perpetual trophy and a cash prize will be presented at each Youth Conference.
The competition will seek out that unit of Ógra which, over the course of a year, has made the best progress in terms of membership, events and activities and publicity. The prize will be awarded to a unit of Ógra which displays enthusiasm, effort and initiative in all of its activities. To download an application form please CLICK HERE to visit the forms page.
